“unNATURAL Collection”
Design Giorgio Ragazzini

he relationships between man and environment are manifold, as  both are complex systems, continuously evolving due to their intrinsic structural features. The interactions designer Giorgio Ragazzini  is  interested  in  are  those  that  condition  or  modify  the  corresponding  evolutionary dynamics: nature those of man, man those of nature.

The dialogue between natural and artificial strictly concerns the relationship between the reality that is not man-made and all that man transforms into objects. In this case the shapes of the unNATURAL  collection  stem  from  an  investigation  into  natural  phenomena  and  from  the interaction of materials with human technology – in this specific case the most state-of-the-art technology for working natural stone with 5-axis pantographs, which make it possible to achieve more complex shapes than simple rotation volumes.

What  the  most  natural  shape,  such  as  a  river  pebble  polished  from  rolling  over  for  tens  of thousands of years, may have in common with a shape reproducible by technologically advanced integrated systems – the “Pebble” tray and bowl hint to this possibility, whereas the “Eccentrico” vases refer to continuous motion and the sudden change in direction. All extremely natural, yet artificial at the same time.

Tavolino Cortina: design VG

Nature, in its most diverse forms and variations, continues to play a key role for VG.

A source of inspiration for the new collection of Cortina small tables is trees, or rather the inner section of tree trunks, the core of the plant. Two round glass surfaces envelop a thin sheet of wood taken from the horizontal cut of a tree trunk, showing the longevity of the plant in all its beauty, to be seen in its many concentric circles.

Two different metal structures with a satin gold finish support the tabletop, allowing you to choose between the two different table heights available.

Poltroncina Kidman: design Giorgio Ragazzini

Inspired by Moulin Rouge, the musical directed by Baz Luhrmann starring Nicole Kidman, the easy chair extols the bohemian spirit, typified in the four keywords of the feature film – Freedom, Beauty, Truth, Love.

Quirky and whimsical, Moulin Rouge is spectacular stagecraft and surrealism, in keeping with the spirit of Paris of the time – dominated, from a visual point of view, by “Deco” shapes, soft and velvety materials, vibrant colours.

In addition to the easy chair, the Kidman collection designed by Giorgio Ragazzini for VG also includes pouffe and day-bed.

Sedia Malaga: design VG

The new Malaga chair by VG stands out for its distinctive style inspired by Art Deco.

With an elegant design and comfortable shape, the Malaga chair has a large wooden structure that houses a shaped seat with padding and upholstered in fine ivory leather.

The oval backrest contributes to an overall minimalist look, also encouraging a healthy and highly comfortable posture.
